Why Movie-Watching Pays

If I had not watched the Bourne movies, I may not have been able to light the gas stove to make my tea this morning:

We are in DC. We are in a very nice, well-located hotel suite, with a kitchen. Well-located but not well stocked. Today I will buy some matches!

That is all!

Your smile says it all! Very inventive at the stove, I must admit!

OK, but how did you light the paper spill? Did you actually poke it down inside the toaster?!!

And she's beautiful. As relaxed as she is, she must be part cat.

How did you tire that poor child out? (And you look too young. If that what grandmas look like these days, it loses some of its terror).

Not a bit older than last we met. Must be all that globe hopping, moving faster then the speed of light and all that.

I think she strongly resembles her Granny Sara. And she will grow to appreciate that!

Good gene pool m'dear!!

In 50 years of cooking with gas, I have never had to light a stove with a match. They either had pilot lights or electronic ignitions (they make a clicking sound when you turn the knob). Have you asked the hotel staff if a match is necessary?

oh my.. very cute!!
btw.. even a stove with a pilot is no longer allowed nor code. Definitely no matches. The electronic ignition must need attention.

Baby perfection!

And PS I really want some of these bot-proof words that you have to type in to be real. Today's word: foceptic. I think it ought to mean the unexpected effect that an ointment or salve has on that weird skin condition. Make it all, y'know, foceptic.

Now you know. Being a grandma, well - hmm. It's at the top of my list and I think perhaps the top or yours. I didn't expect to be so smitten by a child, not my own.
